The Winter Food and Wine Festival by Boucheron Wines was a resounding success. Top artisanal producers exhibited their foods, 30 different wines were freely available and live music created the atmosphere. Face-painting and jumping castles were the order of the day when it came to the children.
Situated 10 minutes away from Fourways, the Elephant Lodge in Glenferness provided the perfect venue for a sunny, winter’s day festival. Guest felt as if they had been teleported into the deep African bush – a winter wonderland of food and wine!
On arrival, guests received two free bottles of wine, a beanie to keep warm and other wine orientated goodies. A warm cup of tomato soup with crusty bread and delicious samosas lined tummies before the main feast was served at 13:00 provided by As Good As It Gets Catering. Thereafter, a dessert table with a range of petit fours was available to subdue the sweet tooth.
Everyone found their spot in the gardens, grabbed a hay bale or two and setup a little camp where they could enjoy their wine and artisanal eats while listening to live blues and rock from The Hickery Band. Towards the end of the day, folks couldn’t resist dancing in the winter sunlight.
Boucheron Wines enjoyed meeting all who attended and hope that next year is even bigger. All wines tasted are available from Boucheron Wines ONLINE.
